Solid food downtown! Menu reminds me of Cheesecake Factory, in that it's huge and has a little bit of everything. Their main fare is Mediterranean dishes, but they also have burgers, Mexican, breakfast served all day, and all your American favorites.
Def recommend the Mediterranean kabob plates. Comes with fluffy pita, hummus, a cucumber-tomato salad, basmati rice and meat of your choice (I like steak and chicken combo). The meat is flavorful and decently cooked (maybe a bit over cooked but nothing to make it inedible). The salad is very light and refreshing, the rice is good, nothing that stands out but it's what you expect it to be.
Their Philly cheesesteak, while nowhere near as authentic as the kind made in Philly, is a tasty California version (you know the kind, with peppers etc on a crusty French roll)
Gets crowded just before noon! 11:30 is a good time to come. -

Solid food and top notch service! I actually order large catering orders quite frequently from Z's, and every single time I get at least 5 compliments! Z, the owner, is such a pleasure to work with and he is hilarious! He's very on top of it and the pricing is very reasonable. I also love that there's variety, and all good. I particularly recommend the kebabs. The green hummus is the best (I believe it is cilantro?) and so is the pasta salad! He personally does large deliveries and has always been on time.
Thanks, Z!! -

I like the food here. usually stop by once a week for lunch and have a kabab combo. Meat is grilled fresh (chicken breast, chicken thigh, beef, or ground beef) and it comes with a diced salad of onion, cucumber, tomato as well as rice, hummus, and a charred half tomato and chile, with a piece of flat bread.
The meat tastes great most days and the rice, salad and bread are usually good. I find their hummus a bit weird but there are three kinds to try.
Have also tried their Nashville Chicken sandwich (very rich but good) and borscht. There are a ton of things on the menu and the cashiers are usually friendly. As a bonus they sometimes play Fox News and CNN right next to each other on the TV which is fun to watch in contrast.
The only reason I don't rate this place higher is the cost is very high for what you get. Then again, cost for Lunch in DTLA is getting pricey everywhere now. -

This is my favorite spot to grab a quick breakfast in the morning. It's tucked away in the corner of the building, and seemed fairly quiet while I was there with most folks picking up or taking out. I ordered the sausage breakfast burrito, and it was delicious. Full of flavor and packed with all the usuals in a breakfast burrito. I made sure to grab some hot sauce to put on it, and it was perfect. I'll keep coming back here when I need breakfast on the go.

This place used to be called Z's "Crazy Good," but I guess they changed it to just Z's. Is it crazy good? Was it ever? I'd say it's crazy ... pretty good? It's not the best food, but they have a gigantic menu with seriously 5 restaurants worth of menus - from breakfast served all day to burgers, burritos, hot dogs, kabobs, salads, desserts, wraps, sandwiches - it's mind-boggling how much stuff they have. I'm sure you can find something to tickle your fancy.
Today I felt like some Mexican food, so I ordered the chicken burrito. The chicken was a little dry, but the burrito was a good size and was served with a side of chips. The hot sauce is key to any burrito encounter, but the hot sauce was just so-so. I wish the red sauce was spicier, and I could've used another sauce (I was only given one green and one red).
I've tried the kabobs before, and those are pretty good. Just be prepared to wait a while for them since they cook it fresh. If you're in a rush, I'd suggest calling ahead or ordering online, then you can come pick it up.
The menu is so massive that you could keep coming back and order something new for a very long time. I don't know if I'll get the burrito again, but there are plenty of other things for me to come back and try!
